University Square North is a five-story mixed-use office building that anchors the northern edge of University Square Plaza, a landmark development serving as the ceremonial gateway to The Ohio State University. Designed in collaboration with The Ohio State University, Campus Partners, and Robert A.M. Stern Architects, the project embodies the intersection of academic excellence, community engagement, and contemporary urban design.
Upper floors provide flexible administrative and academic office space, supporting the university’s mission through thoughtfully designed, light-filled environments that encourage collaboration and connectivity. The ground level features vibrant retail and dining spaces that activate the High Street frontage and enhance the pedestrian experience.
A signature feature of University Square North is Vitria on the Square, a premier event venue located on the second floor, which extends the building’s role beyond academia to serve as a civic and social gathering place.
Lupton Rausch led the core and shell design, working closely with the interior design team to create refined lobby environments that convey warmth, innovation, and institutional identity. Through material refinement, architectural detailing, and a seamless integration with the adjacent plaza, University Square North exemplifies a balanced synthesis of institutional gravitas and urban vibrancy.
