University Square District

University Square is a key component of the Arts District Precinct Plan, representing a premier mixed-use development located at the intersection of 15th Avenue and High Street. Serving as the ceremonial gateway to The Ohio State University, the project embodies the intersection of academic excellence, community engagement, and architectural distinction.

Lupton Rausch collaborated closely with The Ohio State University, Campus Partners, Robert A.M. Stern Architects, and numerous other stakeholders to design and deliver two five-story mixed-use office buildings that anchor and define the University Square Plaza.

The upper levels accommodate university administrative offices, including the Office of the President, while the ground floors feature a dynamic mix of retail and restaurant tenants that enrich the surrounding community and enhance the pedestrian experience. The second floor of the North Building houses Vitria on the Square, a premier event venue that further activates the development.

Lupton Rausch led the design and implementation of the core and shell and worked in close collaboration with the interior design team to develop refined, welcoming lobby environments that reflect the project’s broader vision of connection and innovation.
